VerySmart LLC is a home-based business owned and operated by me, Lisa Gay, with the help and encouragement of my husband and two children.

The topics of learning to learn and the role of parents in our children’s education have been of keen interest to me since our kids started school in 1998.  Over the past 10 years, I’ve researched the topic of Study Tips and Strategies to better assist my kids with homework.  I wanted to help them ‘learn how to learn” without doing the work for them.  In turn, I have developed and conducted numerous after school programs geared for students and their parents from a parent’s perspective.  (Fortunately, the teachers and administrators in our school system have embraced and encouraged parent volunteerism in our district, which has allowed me and many other parents to contribute in many different ways.)

In business, I’ve been a corporate trainer and an instructor for adults in our community college system.  I have observed the importance of becoming a “Life Long Learner”. It’s clear that our children’s grades are not nearly as important as their ability to learn long after high school has ended.  As parents, we are in the unique position of showing our children, that although learning may start in their classrooms, their ability to learn has no boundaries.  Providing the foundation may be the role of their teachers and our educational system, however, we parents can play a tremendous part in fostering that process and seeing it through.

The SmartHomework™ Caddy and the SmartHomework™ Starter Kit are the result of feedback from parents and students along with my own efforts to find a convenient, affordable, and organized solution for homework supplies. Providing your child with a “Place for everything and having everything in it’s place” is a great first step to getting homework accomplished faster, neater, and with less hassles.

Whether from attending a workshop, using your SmartHomework™ Caddy and supplies, or simply reading the information posted on this site, it is my heartfelt wish that it will have enriched your child’s learning process in some small way. I wish you and your children the very best in becoming “Life Long Learners”.
