Learning Styles


What are “Learning Styles”?


Learning Styles refer to the ways that a person prefers to take and give out communication. “Just as we have one side of our brain that is dominant, so too do we have a particular style of learning that is our strongest. There are many different theories of how to identify and describe our possible learning styles…they can be easily slotted into one of three categories: visual learning; auditory learning, and kinesthetic learning,” from Study Smarter, Not Harder by Kevin Paul, MA. The following definitions are simplified and are meant only as an introduction to the idea of different learning styles.


Why is it important to know your Child’s Learning Style?


Knowing your child’s Learning Style will allow you to guide them in a way that your child learns best and help them create organization systems and study habits that complement their way of learning.
